Yes, you can talk normally while wearing Invisalign®, though you may experience a slight lisp when you first start wearing the aligners. This occurs because your tongue is adjusting to the presence of the trays, but usually stops within a few days.
Invisalign®
Invisalign® is one of the most effective ways to achieve a straighter smile. The aligners are completely clear, so most people won’t realize you are wearing your aligners until you tell them. This allows you to straighten your smile without compromising your appearance.

Process of Invisalign® Treatment
The Consultation: During the consultation, we will discuss your cosmetic dentistry goals and evaluate your smile to determine if Invisalign® is right for you. In many cases, Invisalign® is ideal for teens and adults with mild to moderate orthodontic issues. Our goal is to help you address your orthodontic concerns and get you one step closer to your ideal smile.
Building Your Custom Treatment Plan: We use digital technology to create 3D images of your teeth to make the most effective treatment plan. This advanced technology eliminates the need for messy impressions and creates a more accurate impression. During this process, we will assess your smile and determine the appropriate number of aligners you need and the length of your treatment. We will gladly answer any questions you may have about your Invisalign® treatment.
Fabricating Your Custom Aligners: Once we take impressions of your teeth, we will send the information to an Invisalign® lab for the fabrication of your new aligners. The fabrication process will take a few weeks, and once it is completed, we will invite you back to our office. During your final fitting, we will check the size and fit of your aligners to ensure a satisfactory result. Dr. Jefferies will be sure to explain all aspects of your treatment and answer any questions you may have.

Next Steps After Invisalign®
Taking Care of Your Aligners: To make the most out of your Invisalign® treatments, follow all your aftercare instructions. You should wear your aligners for at least 22 hours daily and only remove them to eat, floss, and brush.
During your treatment, we will schedule periodic visits to our office to check your progress. If necessary, we will adjust your treatment to give you the best possible outcome.
