Dr. Mark Jefferies, D.M.D.
Dr. Jefferies grew up in Hagerstown, MD and received his undergraduate degree from Western Maryland College in 1995. He completed the Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) program at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (Boston, MA) in 2003. There he received High Honors on the National Boards of Dentistry and was awarded an Endowed Prize Award for Ethics. Dr. Jefferies has since been practicing General Dentistry in Northern Virginia. His main focus has been on Family & Cosmetic Dentistry. He currently resides in Centreville, VA with his wife, Margaret, and daughter, Emily. He enjoys Fine Arts and can occasionally be found taking oil painting classes at the Torpedo Factory in Old Town Alexandria.
Dr. Jefferies is a member of the American Dental Association, Northern VA Dental Association, VA Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He has also completed various continuing education courses from the Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education, focusing on Esthetics and Occlusion.

Mary Semancik - R.D.H. B.S.
Mary brings over twenty years of experience to her profession and is a valuable asset to our dental team. She began her career in Lexington, KY and continued to Zurich, Switzerland where she lived and worked for two years before getting married and moving to Virginia. Mary also had the opportunity to live and work in Alaska. And when her Alaskan adventure came to an end, she returned to Virginia before moving once more to Europe, where she lived and worked in Belgium and Germany working for the military. Finally back on Virginian soil, Mary continues to further her career and make a number of contributions to the dental hygiene profession. Mary is a member of the European Dental Hygienist Association and the American Dental Hygiene Association and is active as a board member for the Northern VA Dental Hygienist Association. Her community service has not gone unrecognized as she was most recently recognized as "Mentor of the Year" by R.D.H magazine. We are pleased to have Mary educating and providing health care to our patients.

Cherie de Souza - Insurance/Billing Coordinator
Cherie
was born and raised in New York and has lived in Northern Virginia for the last thirty years. She is an IT-retiree, having worked for the Defense Department, AT&T, and FreddieMac. With her past experience, it was a natural transition for Cherie to move into the data/software side of a dental practice in July 2005. Her interests are knitting, painting, bicyling, reading and enjoying time with family and friends.

Margaret Jefferies - Office Manager
Margaret spent her childhood in New York before moving to Virginia with her family. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from Western Maryland College and later worked in Human Resources while living in Boston, MA. Back in Northern Virginia, Margaret enjoys running, hiking, and spending time with her husband and daughter, Emily.
